Wills

Many people still wonder why they should make a Will.

Among the good reasons are: -

  • To ensure your wishes are carried out after your death.

  • To dispose of your assets in a particular way.

  • So that the right people benefit from your estate.

For example, you may wish to:-

  • Provide for your partner and family.

  • Make financial provision for young children and prepare for their daily welfare by appointing guardians for them.

  • Make donations to charity.

  • Leave a gift to another individual.

A Will ensures that your estate will pass to those whom you want to benefit and helps avoid family disputes.

  • We aim to meet your individual requirements and to discuss all aspects in a friendly and helpful way.

  • We aim to write our Wills in clear simple English and free of jargon.

  • By careful consideration of your requirements we may be able to save your estate literally tens of thousands of pounds in Inheritance Tax.

  • We can provide a home visit if you are unable to come to our offices.

What is the cost?

  • We charge from £150 plus VAT for a relatively straightforward Will, or from £250 plus VAT for straightforward husband and wife mirror wills.

  • or tax planning or complicated Wills we charge an hourly rate. Similarly a home visit will be charged at an hourly rate.

  • We can also deal with Codicils which affect minor changes to an existing Will and the cost of that is normally around £85 plus VAT depending on the nature of the changes.

  • We can also store your Will free of charge at our office.
